The group initially debuted with twelve members separated into two subgroups, EXO-K (Suho, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, and Sehun) and EXO-M (Xiumin, Lay, Chen and former members Kris, Luhan and Tao), performing music in Korean and Mandarin respectively.
